Rodda's migrates its IFS hosting solution to OCI

Rodda’s were replacing their legacy ERP system with IFS and were keen to explore alternative hosting solutions for their application, in order to ensure the highest levels of performance and availability were realised due to the nature of their operations. After considering other providers, they selected Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) as their hosting provider due to their impressive performance and security credentials, whilst remaining highly cost-effective. DSP stood out as a partner with experience in navigating applications to OCI migration and was selected to deliver the migration and provide ongoing managed services and support for the underlying cloud infrastructure and critical Oracle databases. Rodda’s were supported from start to finish in this project by Cooper Software, who are a specialist IFS service delivery partner, who has worked in partnership with DSP to deliver a successful migration to the new application.
After selecting OCI as their preferred hosting provider, DSP and Cooper Software worked in tandem with Rodda’s in-house team to design and deliver the migration project. This incorporated Oracle Standard Edition DB Cloud service and associated IaaS services for the deployment of the IFS application tier. The architected solution also ensured that their IFS Oracle Databases were fully optimised for performance after go-live in OCI. This would mean a significant reduction in the cost of hosting and managing the underlying Cloud infrastructure and associated databases. Once the migration was successfully completed, Rodda’s transitioned straight into support on DSP’s continuous managed services programme which provided proactive monitoring and support for the cloud infrastructure and the underlying databases
DSP delivered a successful OCI deployment for Rodda’s which allowed their business-as-usual processes to function without interruption. This has resulted in improved value and performance and DSP’s managed service provision ensures this business-critical application is reliable and secure.
